Bunnie's World

Bunnie's World non-profit

Bunnie is a VERY, VERY loved German Shepherd mix. On Easter 2023, after seeing a post on a local missing dog Facebook page, Ashley became aware of a puppy running loose in a field for two days. Ashley and her daughter, Alyson, drove to the area where someone reported the dog to be. By then, the dog had climbed into a culvert and was determined not to come out. Alyson, along with a few other page members, was able to retrieve the dog from the trench safely.

Alyson and Ashley brought Bunnie back to their home. Bunnie was approximately 12 weeks old. After a few weeks of having Bunnie, they noticed how brilliant she was. They teamed up with a local K9 training facility, and Bunnie began intensive training to become a therapy assistant dog. Bunnie provides safety and comfort to the children that enter our homes.

Bunnie hopes to have more friends join her on her farm, Bunnie’s World. Bunnie’s World will be a sanctuary and forever home for any companion or farm-used animal in crisis. Bunnie’s World will provide a program where Bunnie and her friends and the children of BMH will work together for a fresh start in life. Studies have shown that animal-assisted therapy helps teach empathy, teamwork, compassion, and many other skills.

The most essential thing Bunnie’s World will provide is a safe haven where unconditional love is given, something some of these children and dogs have never seen.
