Serving Our Children
At BMH, we provide evidence-based, compassionate support services to vulnerable children and youth populations. We understand their challenges and are committed to helping them thrive in a trauma-informed environment that allows them to express themselves and receive guidance. Our trained, professional staff is skilled in handling various issues and challenges children face while healing from adverse childhood experiences and trauma. Direct care staff provides 24-hour supervision in BMH Therapeutic Homes.
While the child is at BMH, the child’s Care Team collaborates to ensure that each child’s care plan is updated bi-weekly, wholly understood, and executed accurately and efficiently. The children collaborate with their caseworker to develop and achieve personal and therapeutic goals. The caseworker assists the agency in coordinating the child’s care and providing resources for their needs and treatment.
The children also participate in two life skills training sessions per week to help children and youth overcome challenges and grow personally and socially. We teach essential communication, problem-solving, and self-care skills to prepare them for a successful future. We aim to be a beacon of hope and support for these children, helping them build a strong foundation for their futures.
We provide various therapeutic outlets for the children, such as counseling, group therapy, art therapy, music therapy, adventure therapy, ecotherapy, narrative therapy, crafts, spiritual reflection time, and meditation.
We also offer case management and life skills training to assist young adults transitioning out of foster care. We aim to prepare them for independence and empower them for the future by providing guidance, resources, and the tools they need for long-term success, including job training, educational support, and assistance with daily living tasks.
